Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick
In the Sacrament of the Sick (also called Anointing of the Sick), a priest prays over and anoints a sick or suffering person with blessed oil, asking God to bring spiritual strength, peace, healing, and, if it is God’s will, physical recovery.
The sacrament can be received by:
- Anyone who is seriously ill, whether from disease or injury
- Elderly persons whose health is significantly weakened
- Those undergoing serious surgery or facing major medical conditions
- Individuals whose condition has worsened or become more serious over time
Please contact the parish office at 513.661.6565 to receive this sacrament.
Every fall, the sacrament is administered at the weekend Masses for those experiencing ill health due to advanced age, long-term physical illness, or emotional difficulties. Healing Masses/Services in the Roman Catholic Charismatic tradition are held the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30 pm.
