Located in the South Fairmount neighborhood, St. Leo Church was founded by German Catholic immigrants in 1886. Now it is home to a diverse group of parishioners that include immigrants and refugees from Guatemala, Burundi, Mexico, the Congo, and elsewhere. It is a vibrant, urban Catholic parish community living the spiritual and corporal works of mercy.&nbsp;&nbsp;St. Leo is part of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Family of Parishes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>St. Ignatius parishioners are invited to live out the spiritual and corporal works of mercy with the St. Leo\u2019s community. The pantry is open to clients on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Volunteers staff the pantry during those hours, and also transport donations to the pantry each week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Donate Food Items Anytime!<br><\/em>St. Leo\u2019s welcomes your donations of canned goods and other non-perishable food items! For your convenience, you may leave donations on the St. Leo\u2019s Food Pantry storage shelves in the St. Ignatius Parish office lobby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Participate in the Hunger Walk<br><\/em>The Freestore Foodbank Hunger Walk takes place each year on Memorial Day weekend. Funds raised at the walk help to provide for St. Leo\u2019s Food Pantry needs throughout the year. The toys are then offered to parish and local families as part of a December holiday event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Community Garden<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Volunteers assist each year with preparing and maintaining the St. Leo\u2019s Parish Community Garden. Garden plots are offered to participants to grow produce for their own use and for the food pantry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Children\u2019s Liturgy of the Word<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>St. Leo\u2019s has a great many young families, and offers a children\u2019s Liturgy of the Word during the 10:30 a.m. Sunday Mass.
