{"id":150,"date":"2026-01-14T11:30:07","date_gmt":"2026-01-14T16:30:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sainti.diocesanweb.org\/church\/?page_id=150"},"modified":"2026-06-01T16:58:36","modified_gmt":"2026-06-01T20:58:36","slug":"anointing-of-the-sick","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sainti.diocesanweb.org\/church\/worship-sacraments\/sacraments\/anointing-of-the-sick\/","title":{"rendered":"Anointing of the Sick"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the Sacrament of the Sick (also called Anointing of the Sick), a priest prays over and anoints a sick or suffering person with blessed oil, asking God to bring spiritual strength, peace, healing, and, if it is God\u2019s will, physical recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The sacrament can be received by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Anyone who is seriously ill, whether from disease or injury<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Elderly persons whose health is significantly weakened<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Those undergoing serious surgery or facing major medical conditions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Individuals whose condition has worsened or become more serious over time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please contact the parish office at 513.661.6565 to receive this sacrament. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every fall, the sacrament is administered at the weekend Masses for those experiencing ill health due to advanced age, long-term physical illness, or emotional difficulties.
